The 24 Archetypes and Their Symbols and Stones

Every archetype in the 24 Archetypes system carries a unique set of symbols. Each one has a stone, an element, a season, a color, and an animal, because together these associations form a language that goes deeper than words alone.

When you work with your archetype in your journal, these symbols become your palette. You can use them to choose the colors on your page, the botanicals you glue down, and the words you reach for. Because your archetype’s stone is not just a mineral, it is a resonance, a frequency that mirrors something already alive in you.

Below you will find all 24 archetypes with their full symbolic profile. If you do not yet know which archetype is yours, the quiz at the end of this post will help you find out. Each archetype also includes one journal prompt so that you can begin working with its energy right away.

How to Use This Guide

You can use this reference page in several ways. First, if you already know your archetype, scroll directly to it and use the symbolic associations to deepen your art journal practice. Second, if you are still exploring, read through and notice which stones, elements, or animals call to you, because that pull is always information worth following.

The archetypes are listed alphabetically so that this page works as a reference you can return to again and again.

Animal: Hawk

Core Essence

He is the part of you that will not wear a costume that is not yours. Color: Scarlet & Crimson

Animal: Lion

Core Essence
